My second novel is mostly done, so I am working on an intriguing summary. Every novel needs a blurb to go on the back cover. The blurb is a 150-200 word summary that entices people to read the book. I tried to make this one as interesting and appealing as possible without giving too much away. Let me know what you think.
The Amulet of the Lost Comté
Goron finds that the Society of the Black Sword have infiltrated the monastery where he has hidden Korefael, a shard of the Stone of Power. He must figure out how to lure them away lest the stone falls into their hands.
At the same time, vigilantes visit Annissa, warning her against using magic in the Merouin Caliphate. Annissa fears for her safety and that of Kora, who is manifesting unusual magical phenomena.
Goron and Annissa leave for the city of Coka, bringing Kora and Iko with them. After a perilous sea journey, they arrive in Coka to find an active society of magic users and a den of intrigue. The Black Sword are also in Coka, following Goron’s false trail to Korefael and searching for Pharadazel, another shard of the Stone of Power.
To keep the two stones hidden, Goron must use all his wits to stay one step ahead of from his rivals.
What to name it?
I’m also thinking of what to name the book. I want it to have a similar title structure as my first book, The Statue of the Mad Caliph. I’m not sure which title is more appealing. Here are some of the options. They’re sort of in the order of my own preference.
